Why am I seeking election to public office?

I have two decades of leadership in local government, including six years as a Monmouth City Councilor and 16 years working in Public Transit at Cherriots. During that time, I have had the opportunity to see and be a part of the work being done by the commissioners and Polk County. While much of the work is good, I have seen (and experienced firsthand) the need for significant improvement in certain areas.

I see the need for improvements specifically in communication, organizational efficiencies, transparency, and transportation planning. These are all areas in which I have extensive expertise. I feel that I could step into the role with ease, working with county staff and the other commissioners on these and other issues.
